All About Shin Soo Hyun




Shin Soohyun (Korean: 신수현, born March 11, 1989) is a South Korean idol singer, best known as the leader and main vocalist of seven-member boy bandU-KISS formed by NH Media in 2008. Bandmates include KiseopEli, AJ, HoonKevin and Dongho.


Early life

Shin Soohyun was a soccer player in Gyeonggi-doSouth Korea.Aside from sports, he also joined various singing contests that caused him to discover his drive to be an idol. He was once a trainee under Good Entertainment as well as the prestigious JYP Entertainment.  On 2006, he transferred to NH Media and made his official debut as a member of the boyband, U-KISS.
Soohyun’s father died when he was in second grade, resulting in his depression. His family went through some very hard times and didn’t have much money for food.

[edit]2008-2009: Debut with U-KISS

Soohyun was part of the original six-member U-KISS alongside AlexanderKibumEliKevin and Dongho. The name of the group stands for Ubiquitous Korean International (Idol) Super Star. They debuted on August 15, 2008 in Japan at the Power of Atamix. The group released their first mini album, N-Generation, on September 3, 2008.  Later on, the group debuted on South Korean television, with a performance of Not Young on M! Countdown. Kiseop later joined in 2009, before 만만하니 promotional activities, and U-KISS then became a seven-member boyband.


[edit]2010-present: Other activities and ventures

In 2011, Shin Soohyun was appointed as the leader of U-KISS.[8]  During their promotions with their second full-length album Neverland, their producer dissed the Korean girl group, Kara for winning over U-KISS.[8]  As the leader, Soohyun apologized through his officialTwitter account.[8]  Fans have given him the nickname "King of Fanservice" because he constantly gives attention to his fans and keeps them happy whenever he finds free time.[9]  In 2012, he was dubbed the "Power Vocal" of the band.[10]

[edit]Mini album and album release

As a member of Korean boybandU-KISS. The group launched their first mini album, N-Generation with their hit single Not Young in August 2008.  Their second mini album Bring It Back 2 Old School was released on the February 11, 2009 with their carrier single, I Like You. It features the members sporting Old School hairstyles, dancing to Korean pop in the late 1990s, which was really the concept of the second mini album. The second promoted track is Talk To Me, although it had no links to the Old School concept.
On November 5, 2009, U-KISS returned with their third mini album, ContiUkiss. The title track Man Man Ha Ni (Am I That Easy?) helped raise their popularity in South Korea.
Their first full length album, Only One, was released on February 2010. This heightened their popularity outside Korea such as in the PhilippinesSingaporeMalaysia and Indonesia. Promotional tracks include Bingeul Bingeul (Round and Round), and Mworago (What).
On October 4, 2010, the fourth mini album Break Time further supported their manly image.  It features the title track, Shut Up!.  The group also released their fifth mini album entitled Bran New Kiss in March 30, 2011.  On the same day, their music video for their carrier single, 0330 was released and received positive reviews. It is the first album of the group with the new members, AJ and Hoon replacing Alexander and Kibum.
On November 21, the maknae of the group, Dongho wrapped up a day of shooting on set when he felt sudden pain around his lower back area. After going to the hospital, he discovered that he had cracked his tailbone. The injury was treated, but he’s still feeling pain and was told he needed sufficient time to rest and recover.  The incident brought a wave of concern for the group’s promotions schedule, as they’re currently slated to make their Japanese debut.On November 24, NH Media stated, "We are working hard to make sure that the injury will not affect U-KISS’s Japanese promotions." At this time, Dongho is said to be having difficulty performing the intense choreography set for their upcoming debut.
U-KISS went back in Korea on September with the release of their second full album, Neverland spawning the single, Neverland.  On 2011, U-KISS formally signed under Avex Japan for their Japanese debut. They recently made their formal debut into Japan, on December 14, 2011, with the release of their single Tick Tack. The second single is entitled Forbidden Love. They released their first Japanese full-length album, A Shared Dream, on February 29, 2012.On September 12, 2012 UKISS revealed the teaser for their new single "Stop Girl". It was followed up by the release of the music video on September 19. On September 23, they released the dance practice video for their lead single."Stop Girl" will be the groups first comeback since their Japanese single "One of You" released on August 20th and their first Korean comeback since the release of "Believe" in June. The title track is written by Ryan Jeon, who also wrote their hit song "Neverland". The physical album was released on September 20, along with the digital album as well.
